According to Enrico Punsalang at RideApart, Honda is bucking the industry trend of prioritizing massive side-by-sides by doubling down on its traditional ATV roots. The 2027 FourTrax lineup remains anchored in the values of simplicity, utility, and long-term durability, providing options ranging from the entry-level Recon to the premium Rubicon 700.

A major highlight of the 2027 release is the continued commitment to domestic production. Honda confirmed that these machines are planned in Georgia, developed in Ohio, and assembled at their facility in Swepsonville, North Carolina, utilizing a mix of domestic and global components.

The Entry-Level FourTrax Recon

The Recon serves as the foundation of the series. Powered by a 229cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine with shaft drive, it is designed for riders who prioritize maneuverability and weight savings. Available in standard and Electric Shift Program (ES) trims, it is expected to hit dealerships in October, though final pricing is not yet confirmed.

Midsize Versatility: The Rancher

The Rancher continues to act as the "do-everything" platform. Buyers can tailor the machine to their specific needs with options for 2WD or 4WD, manual or Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), and independent rear suspension. Pricing for the Rancher starts at $6,299 and scales up to $9,649 for the fully optioned 4x4 Automatic model in camo trim.

Workhorse Capability: Foreman and Rubicon

For users focused on heavy lifting and towing, the Foreman 4x4 offers a dedicated utility-first approach. Starting at $8,249, it includes features like speed-sensitive Electric Power Steering (EPS) to reduce rider fatigue. The Foreman Rubicon ups the ante, blending heavy-duty work utility with premium trail features. With three distinct trims, pricing for the Rubicon sits between $9,799 and $10,999. At the very top, the Rubicon 700 4x4 Automatic stands as the flagship, arriving in August with pricing currently not confirmed.
