Triumph has announced a new addition to its lineup: the 2027 Speed Twin 1200 Cafe Racer Edition. This limited-edition motorcycle takes the existing Speed Twin 1200 RS platform and infuses it with classic café racer styling, drawing inspiration from the British motorcycle scene of the 1960s, according to Triumph.
Production will be limited to just 800 units worldwide. According to Triumph, the bike is designed to evoke the spirit of the era with features like clip-on handlebars, a brown solo seat, and a distinctive color scheme.
Design and Features
- Styling: The Cafe Racer Edition features a Competition Green and Aluminum Silver paint scheme with Empire Gold accents.
- Riding Position: Clip-on handlebars offer a more aggressive, forward-leaning riding posture compared to the standard Speed Twin 1200 RS.
- Seat: A retro-style brown solo seat with a removable seat cowl contributes to the bike's sporty aesthetic. Passenger pegs are included and can be reinstalled.
- Mirrors: Machined bar-end mirrors with a circular design add to the classic look.
- Details: Ribbed clutch and alternator cover badges, black head bolt covers, and sculpted knee pads enhance the motorcycle's visual appeal.

Engine and Performance
The Cafe Racer Edition retains the same engine as the Speed Twin 1200 RS. Triumph claims this engine produces 103.5 hp at 7,750 rpm and 83 lb-ft of torque at 4,250 rpm.
- Electronics: The motorcycle features three riding modes, cornering ABS, and traction control, managed by an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit).
- Quickshifter: A bi-directional quickshifter comes standard.
- Instrumentation: The motorcycle uses a combination of a TFT screen and an LCD display, offering smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and a USB-C charging socket.

Chassis and Brakes
The Cafe Racer Edition shares the same chassis and braking components as the Speed Twin 1200 RS.
- Front Suspension: Fully adjustable 43mm Marzocchi inverted forks.
- Rear Suspension: Adjustable Öhlins twin shocks with external reservoirs.
- Brakes: Brembo Stylema M4.30 radial-mount calipers up front and a Nissin two-piston caliper at the rear.

The 2027 Triumph Speed Twin Cafe Racer Edition is expected to arrive in dealerships in March. The starting price is $18,895, which is a $1,900 premium over the standard Speed Twin 1200 RS, according to Triumph.
